Sony New Mobile Looks Kinda Like An Envelope

There have been leaks and rumors about the strange new product, labeled "Sony New Mobile". It's now looking like a more and more official thing as Sony revs up for CES 2009 in January.

We're not sure exactly how it's going to work, but it certainly looks different. Sony's possibly-netbook-thingy is far wider than it is deep, and quite thin, appearing to fit into a woman's handbag in this promotional video. They also have an image of it morphing into an envelope, which we swear we hadn't seen before we came up with our title.

What will this new computer be? All we know so far is that it's got good wireless connectivity and is small enough to compete with netbooks (oops, should we not be saying that word?), which opens the door wide open for speculation. Other specs are very hard to come by, but it better be something interesting to go along with its unique shape. We'll all find out on January 9.
