At first sight, the Philips 230E1 looks as if it is a clone of the 230C1. Both these screens are 23 inch full HD with HDMI, DVI and VGA sockets. The main difference between the two models is panel responsiveness. Philips rates the 230E1 at 5 ms and the 230C1 at 2 ms. Both have the same 2 x 2 watt speakers. If you don’t like the sound, Philips also gives the option of plugging in some headphones or a speaker kit just above the built-in speakers.

As far as appearance goes it has the same black glossy bezel and chrome base. The speakers have been placed behind a grey band that runs under the bezel. As usual, Philips includes its 1 port USB hub. We would have liked to see a second but even this is useful for, say, connecting your USB key directly to the screen rather than having to reach behind your PC. All in all, it looks pretty good on your desk. Its main default remains its base. No pivot mode, nor vertical adjustment.

Philips is back with a 23 inch 2 ms full HD screen, that includes DVI, VGA and HDMI sockets as well as a pair of 2 x 2 watt speakers. Nice looking and reasonably priced, it's well worth a look.

It is similarly designed to the 220CW9, with a glossy black bezel and base socket and a grey metalic base. The bezel is underlain with a grey bar to disguise the speakers and gives it a very nice finish. Philips has again included a 1 port USB hub. The base is the 230C1’s weak point. The panel can only be tilted a few degrees and there's no pivot mode or even any way of adjusting it vertically. If the sound quality given by the built-in speakers isn’t what you’d like, there’s a headphones socket just under the speaker bar.

It's obvious that the Vaio TZ from Sony has been designed from the ground up with 100% mobility in mind. It looks stunning in its carbon fiber casing and remarkably thin design, and with up to eight hours of battery life, there is very little that discerning road warriors won't appreciate about the TZ.

There have been leaks and rumors about the strange new product, labeled "Sony New Mobile". It's now looking like a more and more official thing as Sony revs up for CES 2009 in January.

We're not sure exactly how it's going to work, but it certainly looks different. Sony's possibly-netbook-thingy is far wider than it is deep, and quite thin, appearing to fit into a woman's handbag in this promotional video. They also have an image of it morphing into an envelope, which we swear we hadn't seen before we came up with our title.

What will this new computer be? All we know so far is that it's got good wireless connectivity and is small enough to compete with netbooks (oops, should we not be saying that word?), which opens the door wide open for speculation. Other specs are very hard to come by, but it better be something interesting to go along with its unique shape. We'll all find out on January 9.

The good: Produces relatively deep black levels; accurate color; very good dejudder processing; sleek styling with 1.2-inch thick panel; extensive feature set with Yahoo widgets, network streaming, and a lot of built-in content; extremely energy-efficient.

The bad: Expensive; less-uniform screen than other LCDs; poor off-angle viewing; backlight fluctuates with program brightness; dark areas tinged bluer; shiny screen can cause reflections in bright rooms; red frame isn't for everyone.

The bottom line: Although its picture quality can't quite live up to the high price, the Samsung UNB7000 series is a technological and design tour de force.

Specifications: Product type: LCD TV ; Diagonal size: 46 in ; Resolution: 1920 x 1080 ; See full specs

The good: Deep blacks and detailed shadows for an LCD; three component-video inputs; slick styling.

The bad: Expensive; poor color decoding with heavy red push; only one HDMI input.

The bottom line: While not quite as good for home theater as the best plasmas, the expensive Sony Bravia KDL-V40XBR1 puts on a pretty face and delivers an impressive picture.

The Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot has managed to create a real stir in the mobile community. It's the first GSM handset that ships with the whopping 8 megapixels worth of camera goodies and such things simply cannot go unnoticed.
http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/sony_ericsson_c905_3.jpg

You've probably already gone through the news scoop and you know the sweet details - face detection, smart contrast, both a xenon flash and a photo flash, as well as geotagging complete the camera feature set. A 2.4-inch QVGA TFT display with scratch-resistant mineral glass cover

will serve you as a viewfinder.

The Sony Ericsson C905 seems like an excellent high-end cameraphone - our old trustworthy 8 megapixel Canon EOS-1D Mark II N is already starting to feel a wee bit threatened. Will it keep its job?

The Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot also comes with a built-in accelerometer for screen auto rotation, TV-out port, GPS and, wait for it … Wi-Fi support. Yes, that's true wireless networking on a regular feature phone.

And did we also mention the quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity, the UMTS and HSDPA support, stereo Bluetooth (that's A2DP for the nerd group), USB and FM radio with RDS? Well, it is a nice feature combo by all standards. And it so happens, that we managed to sneak it for a quick hands-on.

Truth be told, the Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot has obviously never heard of diets and healthy food. With a thickness of 18mm (up to 19.5 in its thickest part), it's a seriously fat fella - at least by feature phone standards. There are other really popular smartphones that take the thickness problem even further, but the C905 Cyber-shot is not a smartphone.

CrackBerry addicts and tech-Web-watchers already know that RIM's got a brand new BlackBerry, unofficially dubbed "Onyx," waiting in the wings--related rumors have been swirling around the blogosphere for quite some time now. Heck, images of the unannounced device leaked months ago, so its existence is certain. Less sure are the details on when the device will become available, though some telling information showed up on a BlackBerry forum this past weekend. Keep reading for specifics--as well as two brand new images of the BlackBerry Bold "9700."

The new device will be the next in RIM's BlackBerry Bold product line, succeeding the popular Bold 9000 smartphone, currently an AT&T exclusive device in the United States. Though rumors suggest the new Bold 9700, codenamed "Onyx," will also land in the States on AT&T, the device could very well be released first outside of North America, as was the Bold 9000 in European countries like Germany and Austria in the summer of 2008. AT&T didn't release the Bold in the United States until months later in November 2008 due to technical difficulties with its 3G network.

Mobile blog BoyGeniusReport.com leaked what it claims are technical specifications on the Bold 9700 "Onyx" late last month, as follows:

* -Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE

* -UMTS/HSDPA

* -480×360 resolution display (Bold 9000 has a 480 x 320; 9700 display should be the same or very similar to the screen on the Curve 8900)

* -Wi-Fi a,b,g

* -OS 5.0

* -QWERTY keyboard

* -3.2 megapixel AF camera

* -Bluetooth

A bit of digging through the CrackBerry.com forums this morning also turns up the following rumored specifications and information:

* -BlackBerry Bold 9700 features RIM's new "trackpad," a replacement for its traditional track ball.

* -Bold 9700 ships with 256MB of application memory.

* -AT&T reportedly sent pre-release Bold 9700 units to network "field testers" last week, signifying that the device could be nearing release status.

* -The new Bold reportedly has much improved battery life over the BlackBerry 9000.

HTC Touch Pro2 is considered the most highly anticipated Windows Mobile device of all time. The unique feature of a tilting screen that is seen in HTC TyTN II and the other variations; is brought back again with the introduction of other new technologies that will put many business professionals at awe. Read on to find out more about the super cool HTC Touch Pro2.

The HTC Touch Pro2 is larger and heavier than the last model from HTC but it sports a bigger touch screen that stands at a better tilt or angle. It is definitely a really big and bulky phone that you will not be able to carry by clipping it onto your belt. The interface of this phone is extremely impressive and it carries a new additional feature of a conference call speaker named as the “Straight Talk”.

Physically, you will notice that it is a stunning phone that exudes an appearance and feels that scream high-end. The touch screen with WVGA resolution makes for a really fine and clear picture. The device is a statement that says mobile device engineering has gone a long way especially with the return of the tilting screen. Included in the box that carries this device, you will find a USB cable, a wall charger, an extra stylus, a leather case (to big to be placed on your belt), a screen protector, software instruction, and the battery.

When you are typing, the tilting screen offers an optimum viewing angle. You can watch a movie easily without having to hold it and it is most practical when you are using the GPS navigation in your car. The Touch Pro2’s QWERTY keyboard is almost similar to what you get on a regular computer keyboard; with touch operation is possible without the use of a D-pad.

The call quality of this phone is really good as the voice on the other line comes out clear and crisp. You can also increase the level of volume. The interface of the phone is laid out perfectly making it easy for you to call the number you last dialed by tapping in the first few digits. Since this phone is designed with a conference call facility in mind, the interface has options for multi-callers set up which requires you to create your network first. By putting the phone face down as after you set up a call, you will get to use the loud, noise-cancelling Straight Talk speaker that turns on when the button glows green in color.

The camera of this phone is unfortunately a relatively basic one, which sports 3.2 megapixels that has not flash and no other unique features. In this respect, the HTC Touch falls behind many of its other competitors. In good lighting, you will get images that are good enough but the edges can be a little blurry with poorly rendered color. It gets worse for snapping pictures under a lesser light condition.

Word of the new iPhone Third Generation, has been floating around for a long time now and we had mentioned that a possible due date could be July of this year i.e. two months from now. Reports are coming in now that a date has apparently been set (not yet confirmed though) that the next gen iPhone will make its debut on 17th July.

A few images are also making rounds showing off the new handsets latest rear panel material. From steel to glossy black and now apparently matt black is the new look. Other rumors are talking about the Apple logo being able to light up like the laptop.Stay Tuned for more on the new iPhone.

Logitech has introduced the Logitech Cooling Pad N100 - the latest addition to the company's range of notebook essentials.

"People often complaint about the overheated laptop and discomfort caused by it. Logitech has introduced this new Cooling Pad to cater to the needs of all these notebook users. Logitech Cooling Pad N100 with slotted surface and virtually silent airflow protects you and your notebook from the difficulties and discomforts caused by the over heated notebook," said Mr. Subrotah Biswas, Country Manager, India & SAARC, Logitech.

While using a laptop on the couch or bed or at a desk, the Logitech Cooling Pad N100 improves airflow around the laptop. To help protect users from the heat the Cooling Pad N100 features a slotted surface, which allows the USB-powered fan to distribute air quietly and evenly.

To create a steady, unobstructed airflow, the Cooling Pad N100 uses rear air intake, unlike other cooling pads, which generate airflow from angles that are easily blocked by the laptop itself or loose articles of clothing. Plus, the enclosed, durable construction protects the internal fan from dust and damage.

The Cooling Pad N100 includes a low power-consumption USB cable that connects to a computer with minimal impact on the notebook's battery - while still delivering enough power to improve airflow around the laptop.

The Logitech Cooling Pad N100 is priced at Rs. 1995 and enjoys a replacement warranty of three years.

Bose has introduced the SoundLink wireless music system, a one-piece portable speaker system that allows users to play music from their computer - wirelessly - in and around the home.

No software or Wi-Fi connection for setup is required. Just plug the included SoundLink USB key into the computer, select music - from iTunes, Pandora, or any other Internet radio or music source - and the audio will stream to the SoundLink system via a long-range wireless link that works through most walls and floors.

"Many people use a computer as their primary source for music," said John Roselli, category business manager for Bose Corporation. "But that convenience and experience is diminished by having to be at the computer to hear it. The Bose SoundLink system unlocks that music, streaming it almost anywhere in the home - even outside - quickly and easily."

For added flexibility, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery is included. It's charged by the system's AC Power Supply - no outlet is required. The battery provides all the power the system needs for up to three hours when played at full volume or for longer periods at more moderate listening levels.

The SoundLink system features a proprietary acoustics package, which combines exclusive Bose waveguide speaker technology and neodymium transducers to deliver room-filling, high-quality audio from a very small enclosure.

The system's infrared remote control operates the power and volume, and can send transport control commands to most applications, allowing users to skip tracks or play/pause from a distance. Touch-sensitive volume buttons also are located on the unit itself.

Although designed primarily for wireless connectivity to a computer, the SoundLink system features an auxiliary input for connecting additional audio sources, including an iPod, iPhone, MP3 player or CD player.

The new SoundLink wireless music system comes in Gloss Black, and will be available from Bose beginning August 27, 2009, for a price of $549.95.
